Join us on a musical adventure through France and Russia as we immerse in a soundscape of Romanticism. Our concert opens with French composer Hector Berlioz’s overture to his comic opera Béatrice et Bénédict, followed by Tchaikovsky’s monumental Violin Concerto featuring rising star violinist Lun Li. The concert closes with the Symphony in D minor by César Franck. Though not often performed it is well worth a listen. Lush romanticism rolls throughout this symphonic work which is the only mature symphony written by this prolific composer.
